Sam is a Swim England Level 2 Teacher with more than 7 years' experience.

"I've been teaching for about 5 years and have been assisting for about 2 years before that. I originally chose to start teaching swimming as I'm from an Island where you can't really avoid water. The sea and water sports became a key part of my life, and I naturally fell into swim teaching from there. As a teacher I tend to focus on enjoyment and interactivity, but am always open to incorporating new ideas, often borrowing parts of other teachers' lessons I find interesting. The thing I enjoy most about teaching is meeting new people. Whether its other teachers or children, it's always fun to get to know someone and, in the children's case, figure out what teaching style works best for them. In the future, I'm hoping to keep on the teaching path, aiming for the role as a Professor of Psychology, with a focus on making Psychology as accessible as possible."
