Booking & payment
How do I book lessons?
Booking is online and takes just a couple of clicks. Choose your venue, then use the ‘Book Online’ button to reserve your place. Academy lessons at Bakewell, Chesterfield, Derby, Wellow and Woodhouse are booked through our Swimphony system, Quackers (Nottingham) has its own booking system, and Performance Coaching sessions are booked through SimplyBook.
How much do lessons cost?
Prices vary slightly by venue and lesson type. You can see indicative prices on each Academy venue page, and the exact current price is always shown when you book online.
Do you offer a free trial or assessment?
We’re happy to help you find the right level for your child. Get in touch by phone, WhatsApp or our contact form and we’ll point you to the best class to start with.
Lessons & levels
What ages do you teach?
We teach swimmers from babies and toddlers right through to adults, depending on the venue. Each Academy venue page lists the age range available there.
How are the classes structured?
We follow a clear learn-to-swim pathway with small group sizes, from Parent & Child and Preschool classes through to Learn to Swim, Advanced and one-to-one lessons. Swimmers progress at their own pace with experienced, qualified teachers.
How many swimmers are in each class?
We keep our classes small so every swimmer gets plenty of individual attention. Group sizes vary by venue and stage — your teacher will be able to give you the details for your class.
What is the difference between the Academy and Performance Coaching?
The Learn to Swim Academy is for building water confidence and learning to swim. Performance Coaching, led by Dave Sankey, is one-to-one and small-group coaching with video analysis for club and competitive swimmers looking to refine technique and improve results.
On the day
What should we bring?
A swimming costume, towel and goggles are all you need to get started. For younger swimmers, please bring a swim nappy if required.
Can parents watch?
Yes — parents and carers are welcome to watch poolside or from the viewing area at most venues. Specific arrangements vary by pool, so please check with your teacher. Unfortunately, due to limited space this is not possible at our Nottingham (Quackers) venue.
What happens if we miss a lesson?
Please let us know as soon as you can if you can’t attend. Get in touch by phone or WhatsApp and we’ll help where we can, although we’re unable to guarantee that missed lessons will be rescheduled.
